This marker marks the spot at Northwest Field, a now defunct airfield on Air Force property, where the last mission of World War II (August 15, 1945) departed to bomb Japan (17 hours roundtrip for the B-29s; today it takes us 3.5 hours each way to fly there on Continental) .

This is the island of Rota 35 miles to the north of Guam. It is another island in the Marianas Island archipelago. There is a freighter of some sort in the foreground.

A view of the Tarague watershed on the very northern part of Guam. As a part of my duties as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, I am currently prosecuting in federal court several poachers who were hunting illegally in this area. It is a national wildlife refuge, so I'm prosecuting individuals for both spearfishing and for hunting the local deer.
